Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of BJD members from Jagatsinghpur district on Tuesday approached party supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas here demanding expulsion of former minister Damodar Rout for his alleged anti-party activities.
BJD MLA Prashant Muduli, who visited Naveen Niwas here in the morning along with party’s Jagatsinghpur district president Bishnu Das and other workers, accused Rout of making anti-party statements and hanging with Congress and BJP leaders in the area,and met and submitted a memorandum to the chief minister demanding disciplinary action against veteran party leader.
“I have received the complaints against Damodar Rout on his anti-party activities. I will look into the allegations and take appropriate action,” the Chief Minister told to the media.
On the other hand, Rout had hit back saying that Bishnu Das is an anti-social and Muduli is mentally unstable.“I was removed from the post of party’s vice-president and also from the ministry. What more action can be taken against me?,” Rout had questioned.
In a statement to the media rout said, “The workers were paid by both Das and Muduli to speak against me. Everyone knows who is involved in anti-party activities.”
Worth mentioning, Rout invited party’s ire by alleging scams in purchase of saplings, polythene for Omfed packets and irregularities in cooperative bank loan.
