Bhubaneswar: A number of regions in Odisha are likely to witness heavy rainfall as a low pressure area is brewing over north Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood.

Odisha may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall and accompanied by thundershowers to occur at many places during next 24 hours and at most places in subsequent 48 hours over districts of Odisha, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted.

The IMD has predicted isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over – Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts of Odisha. 

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur over districts of North Odisha and Boudh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nayagarh, Khurda and Puri districts of South Odisha.

The IMD has warned fishermen of Odisha to return to coast by Wednesday evening and also advised them not to venture into the sea along and off Odisha coast and northwest Bay of Bengal from Wednesday to Friday morning.
