London: India will face England in their opening match of Women’s Hockey World Cup in London today. It is to be noted that England will have the home ground advantage. But the captain said that playing in front of big crowds is not new for them.

The team had done well against England earlier including the CWG. India had won against England in the Group Stage at Gold Coast. However, Captain Rani Rampal is confident that pressure will be on their opponents, and not on  them.

A total of 16 teams, divided into four groups, are taking part in the tournament. The Indian team is in Group B it will be playing Ireland, USA in the group stages of the prestigious tournament. England is now ranked 2 in the world right now. India’s previous appearance at the Hockey World Cup was in 2010 in Argentina.
