Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration(SJTA)has introduced “Thali System” to check on the arbitrary pricing of ‘Mahaprasad’ (Abadha) at Ananda Bazar in Srimandir.
This was decided at a meeting between Suara-Mahasuara Nijog and the SJTA chief administrator Pradipta Mahapatra today.As per the decision devotees can buy Abadha Thali at a price range between Rs 70 and Rs 120 with separate list of items.
“The Mahaprasad thali to be sold at Rs 70 will have plain rice, dal, and two curries. The thali to be sold at Rs 80 will have the two additional curries while the thali to be sold at 120 will have kanika, khiri, purified butter rice and four curries,” SJTA Chief Administrator Pradipta Mohapatra said.
The rate chart will be displayed at walls of Ananda Bazar,Baisi Pahacha, and the four gates of the temple for the devotees.
It was also decided at the meeting that no non-servitor is allowed to sell Mahaprasad inside the temple. There will be quality test of the Mahaprasad and restriction will be put on the sale of stale Mahaprasad, Mohapatra added.
The Suar Mahasuar Nijog Members will not be allowed to put up polythene sheds inside Ananda Bazar as they spoil the beauty of the temple. Separate sheds will be built by the SJTA for vending Mahaprasad at Ananda Bazar,” Mohapatra added.
